Role Overview A drafter will contribute to projects related to mining processes, mechanics, industrial piping and plant systems (water, steam, compressed air). The role involves preparing various types of drawings, such as flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;), fire protection diagrams and HVAC system diagrams, and working with engineers, technicians, and designers to develop project layouts. Position Type Regular Responsibilities Participate in preparing various types of drawings, including fluid flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, fire protection diagrams, and HVAC system diagrams. Work with engineers, technicians, and designers to develop project layouts. Apply BBA or client standards when drafting layouts, sketches, schematics, or diagrams from detailed drawings. Produce preliminary plans for buildings, equipment, or sites from reference drawings or catalogs. Participate in improving dynamic block libraries and internal tools. Assist more experienced colleagues with complex tasks. Help prepare site surveys when required. Qualifications Diploma of vocational studies (DVS) in Building or Industrial Drafting, or a diploma of college studies (DCS) in Mechanical, Building Mechanics or Architectural Engineering. Three years of relevant work experience or less. Proficiency with AutoCAD. Proficiency with MS Office. Good knowledge of Revit. Knowledge of 3D software, such as SmartPlant 3D (asset).
