Description
Company Summary Perseus Payments Inc. builds PerseusPay, a payments platform for marine, outdoor power equipment (OPE), and RV dealers across the US and Canada. PerseusPay supports in‑person and online card payments, integrates with dealer DMS systems, and provides settlement, analytics, and reporting for hundreds of dealer locations. Position Summary We are looking for a technically strong Software Developer to join the PerseusPay team in a Technical Support role. This is not a traditional support job—it blends software engineering with customer support. You’ll be the first line of defense for production issues, working with dealer customers and internal teams to triage, diagnose, and resolve problems quickly. Key Responsibilities Monitor production during core business hours and proactively spot issues in payment processing, settlements, and integrations; be available after hours for critical incidents when needed. Triage support requests from dealers and internal teams—assess severity, reproduce issues, identify root cause, and share clear status updates and ETAs. Investigate problems using Datadog, Azure Application Insights, and SQL queries to determine whether issues are caused by data, configuration, integrations, or code. Serve as the main technical contact for dealers with payment, terminal, or settlement issues, communicating clearly in writing and on calls. Write and run diagnostic SQL queries to validate data, trace transactions end‑to‑end, and identify anomalies in payments, refunds, and settlements. Work with the payment processor’s support team to resolve gateway‑related issues. Document fixes, workarounds, and root causes in the team knowledge base to speed up future troubleshooting. Spot recurring issues and escalate systemic bugs to engineering with transparent reproduction steps and impact details. Participate in post‑incident reviews and help improve runbooks and incident response playbooks. Make small code or configuration changes for straightforward, well‑understood issues. Independently fix, test, and deploy code and configuration changes to production when appropriate. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in technical support or software development, with direct exposure to production systems. C#/.NET: able to navigate a production .NET codebase to understand logic, trace defects, and make minor fixes. SQL: strong query skills; able to write diagnostic queries against complex relational schemas (SQL Server/Azure SQL) to trace transaction data and find anomalies. Azure: hands‑on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Application Insights. Production troubleshooting: proven ability to triage incidents, separate symptoms from root causes, and drive issues to resolution under time pressure. Customer communication: clear, professional written and verbal communication with non‑technical users and engineering peers; able to adjust tone to the audience. Log analysis: comfortable using structured logs to identify patterns, trace request flows, and correlate events across services. Preferred Skills Datadog: experience with dashboards, log search, monitors, and APM traces for investigating production issues. Payments knowledge: familiarity with authorization/capture/settlement flows, chargebacks, and PCI DSS concepts. Azure DevOps: experience with work items, pipelines, and pull request reviews. PowerShell or Bash: able to write lightweight scripts to automate checks or export data. REST API debugging: comfortable using Postman or curl to test and troubleshoot integrations. Incident management tools: familiarity with ticketing/ITSM systems (Jira, Freshdesk, Zendesk, etc.). Technical documentation: experience writing runbooks, knowledge‑base articles, and post‑incident reports. Salary Range (Ontario & BC Only) The estimated base salary range for this role is CAD$60,000- CAD$70,000 yearly plus corporate bonus. We include salary ranges in job postings only where required by applicable pay transparency laws, based on the jurisdictions in which the role may be performed. The posted range is a good faith estimate and reflects factors that are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary based on job‑related factors, including work location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant considerations.
