Chef d’équipe (Foreman), Boucherville

Job Objective Support the Production Supervisor by coordinating daily shop-floor operations, ensuring smooth workflow execution, maintaining safety and quality standards, and serving as the first point of contact for team members during the shift. The Lead Hand ensures that production targets are met through hands-on leadership, clear communication, and operational discipline.

Main Responsibilities

Coordinate tasks and assign work to team members based on the production plan provided by the Supervisor.

Monitor workflow to ensure production targets, deadlines, and quality standards are met.

Provide hands-on support to the team when required to maintain productivity.

Act as the primary point of contact for employees during the shift.

Provide guidance, coaching, and real-time feedback to team members.

Support a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.

Escalate personnel or performance issues to the Supervisor as needed.

Ensure adherence to established quality standards and operating procedures.

Perform routine checks and identify non-conformities.

Take immediate corrective action and notify the Supervisor of recurring issues.

Promote and enforce safe work practices at all times.

Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety protocols.

Report hazards, incidents, or near-misses promptly.

Track daily output and report production metrics to the Supervisor.

Assist in identifying bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist in training new employees on procedures and best practices.

Reinforce standard operating procedures and company expectations.

Communicate daily priorities and updates clearly to the team.

Provide timely feedback to the Supervisor regarding team performance, equipment issues, and operational concerns.

Desired Profile

Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Demonstrated ability to lead by example and influence peers positively.

Strong understanding of production processes and safety standards.

Ability to coordinate work effectively under pressure.

Solid problem-solving and communication skills.

Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and accountability mindset.
