Contract available until mid September.ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervise the activities of approximately 6-25 warehouse employees in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet scheduled requirementsCoordinate and ensure cycle count intervals are maintained. Investigate inventory discrepancies and make adjustments as approvedMonitor and coordinate shipping and receiving schedules and carrier appointment timesPerform regular product inspections and audits of warehouse handling practicesMonitor inventory and order fill / backorder requirementsMonitor site security and follow site security proceduresSchedule and co-ordinate equipment repairs as neededWork closely with other departments to ensure that internal and external customers are being adequately servicedEnsure a safe and healthy workplace and identify and correct unsafe practices. Work with Health and Safety to establish and implement new or revised processes, as necessary; lead the incident investigation process for injuries, near misses and property damageUnderstand and manage employees within company policies, including collective agreementsCreate work schedules for warehouse employees; monitor and validate employee swipe records in timekeeping systemTrack and monitor employee attendance issues and maintain attendance databaseProvide performance management for direct reports, including developing strategies to manage absence and discipline, working collaboratively with human resources as necessary; track and monitor departmental/employee metrics in support of sameParticipate and assist with creating a culture of continuous improvement focused on health and safety, quality, efficiency, customer service and costParticipate in daily crew meetings. Provide regular feedback to the group about performance with regards to site KPOs and productivity metrics.Support the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) by reporting concerns, ensuring team competency in food safety practices, and integrating FSMS requirements into operations. Foster continual improvement and empowering others to lead within their areas of responsibility.RequirementsMinimum 5 years of warehousing, shipping/receiving, or transportation experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experienceMinimum secondary school diploma. Post Secondary Education considered an assetForklift experience and certification an assetEffective communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to create reports and deliverpresentationsDemonstrated skills in facilitation, employee engagement, attendance and performance management, and safety enhancementGeneral computer knowledge. Experience with Microsoft Office, WMS systems and Oracle considered an assetWorking knowledge of occupation health and safety and other related legislation/regulationsAbility to demonstrate behaviors that support organizational valuesWorking ConditionsSpend approximately 70% of the time working in manufacturing environment and approximately 30% in an office environmentMust be able to work rotating shiftsThink you have what we need butyour credentials don’t perfectly line up?
