Quality Inspector L1– (Afternoon Shift) Guelph, ON, Canada (On-site)
Job Description POSITION : Quality Inspector (Level 1): Afternoon Shift
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of S.P.C. i.e. Histograms, X and R charts, C.P.K. Must be able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings in addition to GDT.
Ability to read and understand company procedure manuals. Read the standards guide/manual to avoid production errors.
Must be able to use measuring equipment effectively, micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges, and weld gauges, surface testers and CMM. May measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards.
Ability to resolve conflicts and determine reasons for errors in products.
Use technical skills and knowledge to identify cause of problem. Monitor operations to gather information to determine corrective actions.
Ability to drive MEWP and Forklift (Class 7) and able to work at heights and varying weather conditions
Knowledge of weld, assembly and paint processes
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical engineering and schematic diagrams
Interact with supervisor to co-ordinate work and exchange information during quality meetings. Interact with operators to monitor progress and correct work that does not meet quality standards.
Ability to work independently, coordinating work and working with others (i.e. operators, supervisors) as needed.
Familiar with ISO-9001 requirements an asset. Use computer applications such as computer-controlled equipment in plant to monitor quality control. For example, use a scanner to record information from operator functions, then transfer data to computer and conduct an analysis on the resulting database.
Maintain continuous learning in order to keep up with new developments in field.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
First off inspection, receiving inspection and in process inspection
Final and cell audits
Utilize manual gauging and operate CMM as required
Inspect a variety of parts (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, etc)
Sorting of product based on visual aids
Completion of necessary forms, paperwork, and data entry
Responsible for helping with PPAP (measurement tasks and process)
Final Inspection– Assembly
Mechanical, functional and physical measurement testing
Operate and function Mobile Elevated Work Platform MEWP (3a, 3b) and Telehandler (Forklift License– Class 7)
Receiving Inspection–
Visual checks, measurements, gauge checks
Paint load and off load inspection
weld profile gauges, (cut and etch add eventually), visual inspection, MEK test, scratch test
Weld Inspection
Fixture measurements, weld gauges for weld inspection
Assist Quality Engineers with cut and etch
CWB Level 1– Weld Inspector Certification (an asset)
In Process Inspection
Weld Inspection
Review Weld cells for random checks on welds and tack welds before completion
Paint Load Inspection
Work with Paint Load Coordinator and once window is loaded inspect parts
All other assignments required to support Production
Other Duties as assigned
