Base pay range: CA$65,000.00/yr - CA$65,000.00/yr
Location: Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for a growing organization in the mechanical services industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate bi-weekly payroll processing, payroll compliance, employee record maintenance, and responding to payroll-related inquiries. This is an on-site, full-time role supporting both hourly and salaried employees.
Key Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Manage payroll and absence tracking using payroll software (e.g., PayWorks)
Prepare and process payroll adjustments, ROEs, T4s, and statutory remittances
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records
Reconcile payroll accounts on a monthly basis
Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation
Respond to employee questions related to payroll and deductions
Support payroll audits and reporting as required
Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications&Requirements
Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience
Experience with payroll and accounting systems (NetSuite considered an asset)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Experience in the mechanical, construction, or trades-based industry is an asset
Ability to work full-time on-site during standard business hours
