Painter Job Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring equipment performance and adjusting set‑ups, calibrations, and alignments on production equipment, while assisting with operation and duties in production. Track various data associated with production equipment, report any inconsistencies, use standard repair procedures and call specialists when more serious problems occur.Responsibilities
Experience as an industrial spray painter using conventional and/or air‑assisted automated painting systems. Ability to read hazard signs and signs regarding the use of protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves, as well as product labels and paint codes. Ability to take readings on gauges, such as the gauges on electrostatic drying guns, and compare operational standards for the gauges.Interact with co‑workers to coordinate work and discuss problems. Communicate with supervisors to receive or clarify schedules and to discuss changes in work orders. Ability to solve problems, find inconsistencies, and decide whether pieces need to be sanded or washed before painting. Prioritize job tasks to meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and work with a partner to move large pieces. Work as a member of a team on a production line and collaborate with one another to resolve quality problems as needed. Use computer‑operated machinery. For example, may use computer time clocks that automatically calculate time spent per job when cards are passed through scanners.Learn on the job and read a variety of materials to learn about current products and equipment. Take safety courses, such as training in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and in proper use of respirators and other safety equipment as needed. Academic/Educational Requirements
Some completion of secondary school or equivalent. Required Skills/Experience
Possess the drive and motivation to learn continuously on the job. Ability to work independently and in a team, setting requiring cooperation. Ability to interact with co‑workers and supervisors to exchange information about tasks and to coordinate work.
