Job Title: Building Maintenance Worker Pay Rate: $21.50/hour Position Type: Full-time, Contract (8 weeks total, 35 hours per week) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM Wyndham House is a national leader in ending chronic youth homelessness. We’re looking for practical, hands‑on individuals who are comfortable with physical work and interested in supporting safe, welcoming living environments. This role is well suited to someone with general labor or handyman aptitude who is interested in building skills while working alongside an experienced Property Manager. Reporting to the Property Manager, the Building Maintenance Worker will support the maintenance and upkeep of Wyndham House programs for the duration of the summer. This position involves general labor, routine maintenance tasks, and assisting with basic repairs in congregate living environments serving youth. With guidance and supervision, this role supports work related to carpentry, basic plumbing repairs, HVAC support tasks, basic electrical work (non‑licensed, supervised).Job Responsibilities and Duties

Assist with general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of Wyndham House residential programs Support the Property Manager with routine labor tasks and work orders Use basic hand and power tools safely and appropriately Identify and report maintenance concerns requiring escalation Support upkeep of shared living spaces to ensure they meet health and safety standardsWork within congregate living environments respectfully and professionally Follow safety procedures, universal precautions, and PPE requirements Duties as assigned Job Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrated practical, hands‑on aptitude Comfort using basic tools and performing physical tasks Ability to follow direction and work independently once trained Proficiency in basic mathematics for measurements and materials Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work including standing, bending, and carryingmaterialsClear spoken and written English communication Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic Basic computer skills, including email and invoici A valid G‑class license and reliable access to a personal vehicle is an asset Requirements

Proof of having received 2 doses of the COVID‑19 vaccine Must successfully pass a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening International students or individuals on work, youth, or visitor visas are not eligible for the program Canada Summer Jobs Requirements

Under 30 years of age at the start of the funded position Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee status Valid SIN Ability to Commute/Relocate
