The Line Supervisor is responsible for driving the overall effectiveness of the National Distribution Centre by leading inventory deployment planning, overseeing shipping and receiving operations, and supervising all aspects of the product finishing function. This role plays a critical part in ensuring optimal inventory levels, efficient order fulfillment, accurate product labeling, and optimized inbound and outbound logistics, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and operational performance. Through effective coordination of cross‑functional teams and adherence to company standards, the position ensures that all distribution activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with East Penn Canada’s customer experience and health and safety commitments.
Duties&Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and foster a positive, high-performance work environment where employees are motivated, engaged, and accountable to performance standards and operational targets
Coordinate and lead all product finishing line operations, ensuring labeling activities are executed accurately and meet established quality standards
Oversee daily distribution planning, including coordination of customer orders, inventory allocation, and workload prioritization across the National Distribution Centre
Manage and optimize shipping and receiving operations, ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments are accurately processed, scheduled, and completed within established timelines
Develop and execute operational plans to support business growth, including labour planning, staffing, resource allocation, and budget considerations
Drive inventory optimization initiatives, including cycle counts, returns management, warranty processing, and product allocation strategiesEnsure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable provincial legislation, including health and safety, TDG, and WHMIS requirements
Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance management to team members to support development, productivity, and succession planning
Actively participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of employees, while addressing performance concerns and resolving operational issues
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, and Inventory teams to ensure seamless execution of daily operations and exceptional customer service
Monitor and report on operational metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, process optimization, and cost efficiency
Post‑secondary education in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of leadership experience managing teams within a fast‑paced operational setting
3+ years of progressive experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment
Strong knowledge of ERP systems, with SAP (WM/IM/SD) and RF WMS experience considered a very strong asset
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, balance competing demands, and drive results in a high-pressure environment
Strong organizational, planning, and problem‑solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Experience with inventory management, shipping/receiving operations, and process improvement initiatives is strongly preferred
Other Considerations
This is a 100% on‑site position, supporting our National Head Office location in Courtice, Ontario
Satisfactory completion of role‑specific background checks will be required as a condition of employment. These may include, but are not limited to, criminal record checks, professional references, driver’s abstracts, and employment credit checks
Approximate annual salary range for this role is $65,000‑75,000 (exact salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
