What Is the Opportunity? As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon‑led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025, Aecon will support the construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
The Jr. Project Coordinator Co‑op is a highly motivated self‑starter who will assist in various areas of our project, depending on business requirements.
What You’ll Do Here
Assist in the development and maintenance of Comprehensive Work Package in cooperation with construction and engineering.
Identify, report, and secure approval for deviations from the design documents as they occur and before release to construction.
Provide assurance that construction activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs and applicable procedures.
Provide and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between field trades and design engineers for problem resolution and information flow.
Provide status and progress reports to project team, and management.
Establish and maintain interfaces with other internal groups, subcontractors and suppliers supporting the project.
Develop and write detailed work plans in cooperation with construction leads.
Maintain high standards related to final product quality.
Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as‑built drawings, turnover documents, etc.
Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements and related specifications.
Coordinate activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Interface with team members to provide project status reports and ensure project needs are met.
Assist and monitor safety programs and statistics as required.
Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understanding and implementing policies and procedures.
Utilize 3D modeling to support construction work.
Other duties assigned.
What You Bring to the Table
Pursuing a post‑secondary degree or diploma in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) is preferred.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Knowledge of SharePoint applications is an asset.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.
Knowledge of Aconex, Bluebeam, Excel is an asset.
Able to read blueprints is an asset.
Valid G license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to work in‑person at site office/trailer.
