Civil Engineering Technician (Brampton)

Job Overview As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects. Your expertise will contribute to the development of infrastructure that enhances communities and supports sustainable growth. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget while adhering to safety and quality standards. What you’ll do - Assist in the preparation of construction plans, specifications, and estimates using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software. - Conduct land surveying and data collection to support project designs and assessments. - Collaborate on project scheduling and construction management to ensure efficient workflow. - Perform construction inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and safety regulations. - Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and ArcGIS for mapping and analyzing project sites. - Engage in research & development activities to explore innovative engineering solutions. - Draft technical reports, schematics, and documentation for project stakeholders. - Support water treatment and wastewater treatment projects through mechanical knowledge and technical expertise. Basic qualifications - Strong knowledge of structural design software such as ETAB, STAAD - Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Civil 3D. Preferred qualifications - Experience in construction estimating and management practices. - Familiarity with civil engineering principles and practices. - Knowledge of construction inspection processes and standards.
