About this opportunity: On behalf of one of our leading aerospace and space systems clients, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (EGSE Design) at the MTS / Senior MTS Engineering level to join a high-performing Robotics & Space Operations program. This role supports advanced space, robotics, and exploration initiatives, including on-orbit space station activities, external robotics systems, planetary and lunar rover programs, and internal R&D; projects. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and integration of Analog, Digital, and Power Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) within complex aerospace environments. This role offers long-term engagement potential, with opportunities for extension and conversion based on performance and program needs. What You’ll Do: As a member of the Electrical Engineering team specialising in Analog/Digital/Power Hardware Design, you will be responsible for a range of engineering activities, including but not limited to: - Design of low-noise analog circuits, including sensor front-end amplifiers, filtering, and data acquisition systems (DAQ) - High-speed digital and analog board design, including schematic capture, circuit simulation, worst-case and stress analysis, and PCB/PWB layout support - Support for Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) documentation and manufacturing activities - Board-level testing and debugging of CCAs; unit-level avionics testing and system-level integration - Use of advanced test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum/network analyzers, TDR/VNA, power amplifiers, function generators, etc.) - Design and development of DC brushless/brushed motor drivers and controllers, including resolvers and encoders - Design and manufacture of EGSE systems, including test racks and cable harness assemblies - Evaluation and verification of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components for EGSE applications - Development of motor control schemes and sensor integration for motor driver systems - Preparation and delivery of technical presentations and design reviews to customers and stakeholders - Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to meet project milestones and delivery timelines - Candidates are not expected to have expertise in all areas listed but should demonstrate solid proficiency in at least one or more of the following: Analog, Power, Motor/Motor Controller, or Cable/Test Rack Design. What You Bring: Technical Expertise - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Computer, or Systems Engineering - 5–10 years of experience in an engineering role within space, robotics, aerospace, or a closely related technical field - Candidates will be considered for Working or Senior levels based on experience and qualifications - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills - Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication abilities - Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic, requirements-driven environment - Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and professionalism - Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated integrity Must‑Have Skills - Analog / Digital / Power Electrical Hardware Design experience for EGSE or complex embedded systems - Low‑noise analog circuit design, including sensor front‑end amplifiers, filtering, and DAQ systems - High‑speed digital and analog board design, including schematic capture, circuit simulation, and basic electrical analysis - PCB/CCA design support, including documentation and manufacturing interface - Hands‑on testing and debugging at board, unit, and system integration levels - Proficiency using electrical test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum/network analyzers, function generators, etc.) - Motor control experience, including DC brushed or brushless motor drivers/controllers, resolvers, or encoders - Experience designing or supporting EGSE systems, such as test racks and cable/harness assemblies - Ability to evaluate and verify COTS components for engineering and test applications - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills Nice to Have - Experience with OrCAD design tools - Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, and VBA - Experience with Python or similar programming languages - Familiarity with PCB/CCA manufacturing lifecycles and release processes - Experience with product-based, design-to-cost engineering environments - Background in manufacturing and assembly practices - Prior experience collaborating with organizations such as NASA JPL, CSA, or Lockheed Martin on avionics integration and testing activities How to Apply: - Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their resumes via the Akkodis Canada website..
