Description
Shift Time: 9:45 PM – 6:15 AM, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to accommodate schedule changes and occasional weekend work as required. Upon hire, the selected candidate will complete a one-month training period on the Day Shift (5:45 AM – 2:15 PM), after which they will transition to the Night Shift. This position is for a current vacancy and has an hourly compensation rate of $23.50 with a $2.00 Night Shift premium. Embassy is experiencing exciting growth at a rate of 20% year over year, and we’re currently building our Night Shift team within our Dry Production department! The Dry Production Operator is responsible for safely performing all tasks related to dry production of mixes. Your goal is to complete tasks quickly and safely while following all warehouse, food safety and quality standards. In addition to manufacturing bakery mixes you are responsible for contributing to a safe work environment and being an awesome team player who owns the way they roll. What you are responsible for: - Maintaining regular attendance and arriving to work on time daily. Providing 2+ hours (at minimum) if you cannot attend your regular shift. - Performing all tasks in Dry Production Matrix efficiently, accurately to SOPs, and independently. The Matrix is available on the Dry Operator Scorecard. - Verifying if all the ingredients are ready and the proper quantity is available before compounding or mixing. - Compounding and mixing products as per the manufacturing order/instructions. - Packaging product into specified pack size and label as per instructions. - Operating equipment such as compounding scale, mixer/blender, pumps, hoist, forklift, BT pallet truck as well as robotic equipment. - Dismantling and assembling manufacturing equipment and lines according to established SOPs to ensure GMP compliance and meet department changeover targets. Troubleshooting and working with the maintenance department if any breakdowns occur. - Assisting our maintenance team with requests and resolving urgent issues to minimize disruptions in production. - Make necessary adjustments and minor repairs to dry production equipment. - Following all critical control points (CCPs) including metal detector checks, ensuring processes and settings are followed for each unique item. - Creating and printing labels and verifying that this information matches the manufacturing order. - Accurately complete production documentation and properly using the RF guns and following training and procedures for inventory storage/organization and inventory management. - Responsible for moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required. - Monitoring safety measures within the facility. Reporting any safety, quality, product loss, time loss, and/or equipment issues to the area supervisor/manager. - Meeting all department and individual metrics outlined on your scorecard. - If you see something do something! Follow all safety protocols across the facility and report all accidents, near misses or unsafe actions performed by you or an Embassy team member to your supervisor. - Clean as you go - assist with sweeping the floor, cleaning and emptying waste. - Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including painting and drywall repairs. - Providing assistance and guidance to team members including new employees and temporary workers. - Supports all food safety initiatives, including (but not limited to) BRCGS, HACCP, GMPs, Allergens, GFCP, Kosher, Halal, Customer Requirements (Such as Costco standards and Kraft Standards). - Ensure all activities maintain the food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality of our products. - Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or additional duties may be assigned at any time. What you need to bring to Embassy: - Secondary school diploma or recognized equivalent. - Professional proficiency in English. As an English-speaking workplace, it is mandatory to communicate in English while on premises. - Valid forklift license and experience with Raymond Reach is mandatory. Ability to operate double deep, counterbalance, and walkie is an asset. - Intermediate computer skills with basic knowledge of Business Central and RF scanners is an asset. - Mathematical proficiency in basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication. - Ability to lift up to 30kgs at a time from waist to shoulder height, with strong stamina to continue lifting up to 10,000kgs per shift. - Available to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends as requiredYour Strengths: - Communication (written and oral) skills. - High level of organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team to reach department targets. - Strong attention to detail and maintain accuracy while performing work. - Enjoys working in a energetic work environment with multiple demands. - Task-driven worker with a high sense of urgency. Environmental conditions: - Exposures to high-decibel, and dusty environment (non-toxic food ingredients). - Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection responsibly as per health and safety procedures. - Physical effort / lifting up to 30kgs at a time from waist to shoulder height, and up to 10,000kgs per shift. - Able to stand and walk throughout the shift, may require stopping, and climbing.
