Description
Project Manager, Construction – Multiple Sites Full‑time, 12‑month temporary contract. Program: WIP. Sites: Multiple. Schedule: Days. Accountabilities Support day‑to‑day activities in the redevelopment project, including liaison with hospital user groups, management, design team, contractor, municipality, William Osler Health System Foundation, Ministry of Health capital team, and other stakeholder groups to keep the project within defined parameters. Implement or support project management process and best practice, including scope, budget, schedule development, monitoring, risk management, construction monitoring, deficiency reviews, commissioning activities, contractor health and safety compliance, occupancy planning, and post‑occupancy evaluation. Manage assigned projects or tasks from planning through implementation and close‑out. Participate in or facilitate all project‑related meetings and conferences as necessary. Act as the primary liaison between the Facilities team and contract service providers, end‑users, Infection Prevention and Control team, Occupational Health and Safety team, consultants, and construction team to ensure client and hospital objectives are met throughout construction and close‑out. Collaborate with consultants to respond to requests for information and shop drawing submissions; review drawings and specifications, confirm payment authorizations, and ensure all construction‑related activities are addressed timely and within contract terms. Ensure end‑user decanting and relocation is planned and executed efficiently, effectively, and according to schedule. Facilitate planning, logistics, and implementation of recent and transferred equipment requirements. Work in compliance with Ontario building code, CSA infection control standards, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations; report hazards, deficiencies, and contraventions promptly. Drive project processes with initiative, energy, and enthusiasm to deliver projects on time and on budget. Provide direct project management support for other concurrent projects as required. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications College/university education in a related building sciences discipline. PMP® certification is considered an asset. Minimum of three years of construction experience with medium‑scale projects (preference for healthcare environment). Understanding and practical use of CCDC 2 and supplemental conditions. Demonstrated project management skills, including development and monitoring of budgets and schedules. Preferred understanding of Ministry of Health capital planning processes. Basic knowledge of architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems (basic knowledge of all three is considered an asset). Understanding of CSA Z317 (latest edition) standards is an asset. Understanding of CSA Z8000 and other related CSA standards is an asset. Familiarity with the Broader Public Sector procurement directive is an asset. Current Working at Heights training or ability to achieve upon hiring. Outstanding organization, priority setting, and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Computer skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams (AutoCAD would be an asset).
