Description
Job Purpose: The Machine Mechanical Assembly is a member of the Production Team. Primary responsibility is to ensure the production plan, as outlined by the supervisor is followed. Ensures that the machine assembly processes are effective and efficient and productive. Responsibilities: - Follow production drawings, build summaries and assembly instruction sheets or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. - Work closely with other departments with respect to design, build and troubleshooting of prototype machines. - Use cutting tolls, equipment, hand and power tolls to accomplish assembly tasks. - Use a variety of measuring instruments and devices as well as material handling devices. - Plan and layout assembly sequence and procedures for specified parts - Assemble components and subassemblies. - Practice proper mechanical assembly procedures i.e.: applying appropriate torque setting to all fasteners, etc. - Visually inspect parts for obvious defects, damage, cracks, burrs or missing features - Report all machining or design errors and improper part files to supervisor so that the problems can be addressed. - Maintain good work habits and demonstrate good work ethic. - Perform other duties or temporary jobs as may be assigned due to changing workloads and manpower requirements. - Perform inspections of assemblies and subassemblies during the building of the machines, and a complete inspection of the machines prior to commissioning - Establish a safe working environment by following the company’s guidelines regarding the safe use of lifting devises, use of solvents, etc., on the plant floor and following proper lock out procedures.cations Job Requirements: - Technical Degree and/or demonstrate related equivalent experience in machine assembly. - Highly motivated and self-directed - Ability to work with minimal supervision and have excellent time management skills. - Detail oriented and can be counted on to meet and exceed goals successfully. - Good computer skills and knowledge of technology - Excellent problem solving and good communication skills. - Able to work independently and as part of a team. - Must be able to operate in all areas of the plant as well as shop floor environment and around machinery. - Ability to climb, walk, and light lift etc. - Able to work overtime shifts as required.
