THE OPPORTUNITY Published On Main is currently searching for passionate individuals to join our growing team as SERVER ASSISTANT. START DATE: Immediately This position is FULL TIME/PART TIME OVERVIEW As a Server Assistant you essential in guiding our guests’ dining experience through effective service support and a keen understanding of our restaurant’s story, ensuring that every guest encounter is smooth and memorable. RESPONSIBILTIES SERVICE SUPPORT & DELIVERY - Efficiently deliver and present dishes to guests, ensuring timeliness and accuracy with each course. - Provide assistance with table maintenance, including clearing dishes and resetting tables to facilitate a seamless dining experience. MENU KNOWLEDGE & GUEST INTERACTION - Possess a solid grasp of our menu offerings and the stories behind our culinary ethos to enrich guest interactions. - Share insights and narratives of our dishes and their ingredients, engaging guests in the Published on Main dining experience. DINING ROOM EFFICIENCY - Assist with dining room operations, swiftly clearing tables, managing tableware, and contributing to overall service flow. - Ensure the dining area is well-maintained and ready to receive guests at any moment. CUTLERY, PLATEWARE & GLASSWARE - Diligently polish cutlery, dishes and glassware, maintaining a stock of clean and ready-to-use items at all times. - Oversee the care and presentation of serving ware, aligning with the restaurant’s standards for quality and cleanliness. TEAM ENGAGEMENT & CULTURE - Foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere, working alongside the service team to enhance efficiency and morale. - Embrace team dynamics with enthusiasm, assisting colleagues to uphold a harmonious service environment. STANDARDS & COMPLIANCE - Adhere to the restaurant’s service standards, policies, and procedures. - Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring guest and staff wellbeing during service. Duties and responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of the organization. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the restaurant's operations and objectives. A love of food, wine and cocktails and a desire to learn and grow in the hospitality industry is a bonus. The ideal candidate has: - The ability to work on their feet for the length of the shift, and lift/carry up to 25lbs. - The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and demanding environment, especially during peak hours. - The ability to learn and understand the restaurants menu and ingredients. - A keen eye for detail, ensuring that their work meets the highest standards. - The confidence to adapt quickly and handle unexpected situations. - Effective communication and listening skills, teamwork skills and the confidence to follow directions efficiently. ***Weekend and evening availability is a must. ***Serving It Right certification is a must.
