Summary Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Head Cook at the Stockton Complex. The role is responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; training of employees in cooking methods, preparation, and plate presentation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Manage the event day operation of the kitchen, coordinate food production and ensure the highest level of food quality, taste and presentation.
Supervise temporary labor.
Fulfill service per each Banquet Event Order (BEO).
Prepare recipes as directed.
Maintain all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance.
Design buffet food presentations.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise Kitchen staff in conjunction with the Kitchen Manager.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education
High school diploma or GED certificate.
One year experience in a banquet facility preparing meals for large events.
One year experience in culinary.
Skills And Abilities
Exceptional skills in customer relations, communications, and problem solving.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
Work independently, exercising good judgment and initiative.
Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others while working.
Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to perform tasks that require prolonged standing, lifting, stooping, and walking.
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Other Qualifications
Food Handler’s Permit or ability to obtain one upon hire.
Attend all Legends Global Alcohol and Policy Training Classes.
Physical Demands The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to move around the facility; stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
Compensation The compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour.
