Who we are: Armstrong Bird Food is manufactured by Canada’s leading Wild Bird Food manufacturer, Armstrong Milling Co. Ltd. Armstrong Milling has been in business for over 38 years – and is still family run. What we are looking for: Armstrong Milling is looking for an experienced individual to work within the office/plant setting to provide administrative/inventory help and assist within the maintenance department. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Temp Contract - 3-6 months – 40hrs per week. Working predominantly at the Armstrong Milling head office in Nelles Corners, ON. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Communicate with equipment vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, place purchase orders, and receive goods, equipment, and supplies for maintenance, production, or SQF departments as directed. - Create purchase orders, review delivery slips, and process invoices using the Epicor ERP system. - Manage the maintenance spare parts inventory using MaintainX. This includes data entry, labelling of parts, taking photos, putting parts into storage, and updating inventory levels. These tasks will also require breaking down cardboard boxes, climbing ladders and occasional heavy lifting of parts weighing up to 50 lbs. - Keep track of and communicate all parts that have been requested, ordered, and received for various departments. - Conduct monthly inventories of all chemicals stored in the plant (paint room, maintenance shop, etc.). - Print out the monthly call-in list schedule for maintenance personnel and post it in necessary locations around the plant. - Inventory all plant radios. - Generate invoice reports in Epicor to assist with month-end reporting deadlines. - Work directly with the plant vending machine supplier to ensure the machines are properly maintained and resolve any employee concerns. - Must ensure compliance with all SQF requirements. Must report all food safety and quality issues of which there is awareness to the maintenance manager or other management personnel in their absence. - Work with the department on other admin duties, special projects, and vacation coverage. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Conduct safety orientation training for outside contractors, update and maintain training records to ensure contractors receive safety orientation training annually. - Direct outside contractors to specific jobs in the absence of maintenance manager or maintenance supervisor - Work with current vendors to provide credit information and open accounts, set up new vendors in Epicor. - Arrange the shipment of parts or equipment for repair or warranty work. - Track mileage for hourly employees for the maintenance department and submit it to maintenance supervisor for approval before sending to accounting. - File hard copies of documentation in the correct locations as needed (hot work permits, confined space permits, inspection reports, etc.). - Scan equipment manuals or obtain electronic copies for new equipment and save them on the maintenance server for reference. QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum 1-2 years in Inventory control in an industrial setting or related field. - High school diploma is a must. College diploma or certification in inventory management or a relevant field is a plus. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal teams. - Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software, including inventory management systems is a must have. Experience using EPICOR, CMMS, and Maintain X an asset - Detail oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with the trades team - A positive attitude, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. - Physically able to maintain storeroom inventory - Good time management and problem-solving skills - Able to identify discrepancies in inventories and remedy them - Data entry experience - Strong administrative abilities - Able to read service manuals and understand parts schematics is a plus Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour Benefits - Casual dress - Company events - Flexible schedule - On-site parking - Paid time off - Store discount Flexible language requirement: - French not required Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o2y5b
