Orthodontic Dental Assistant (Brantford)

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced (no recent grads) Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years minimum experience in this role. You will support Dr. Joel Schacher in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and assisting with various orthodontic procedures. The hours for this position are on Fridays only in Brantford 845 to 4:30, with a one hour lunch. If you are available another day Monday, Tuesday or Thursday and can travel to Mississauga you could have an extra training day there. Our office is located at 265 Enfield Place, right by Square One. We alternate between two offices in Brantford, Brant Smiles and Cornerstone Dentistry. We also work a few Fridays in Mississauga. We are looking for a level two certified assistant with NDAEB certification as a bare minimum. (We do prefer someone that has the ortho module and is a level three Assistant if possible.) We are looking for someone that has worked in an orthodontic specialty practice with an Orthodontist, (not a general Dentist occasionally doing ortho.) Duties - Assist orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, including placement and adjustment of braces and appliances - Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols - Take and develop dental radiographs, photos and records - Provide patient education on orthodontic care, oral hygiene, and appliance maintenance - Willingness to learn a new bracketing system called Pitts 21 - Take notes and commit to memory details of the bracketing system Skills - Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and materials - Level Two Dental Assistant with an NDAEB diploma, Ortho module preferred or to take the course as available - Experience working with an Orthodontic specialist as opposed to a General Dentist This position provides an engaging environment for those committed to advancing their career in orthodontics within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in dental health.
