Position Summary This course examines the ethical implications of game creation with an emphasis on conscientious design practices. Students will learn about and explore ethical issues including various philosophical conceptions of ethics and morality, representations of sex, gender, race, and violence, and examine the social and political pressures applied to games as entertainment and instigators of personal, social, cultural, and/or political change.

Required Academic Degree: Master’s degree or PhD related to the study of games, critical media studies, and/or conscientious design.
Required Discipline: N/A.
Required Areas of Specialization: N/A.
Required Skilled Designation: N/A.
Other: Experience instructing/mentoring students/learners in the design of and/or analysis of games from a conscientious design perspective; Experience with designing or critically analyzing games that convey ideas, beliefs, and/or values to the player (e.g. games about social, political or applied issues).
Salary $10,212.40
