Position Overview We are seeking a Part‑Time Tube Inspector to support source inspection activities at a precision tube manufacturing facility in Brockville, Ontario. You will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client need and each supplier’s production schedule. Travel reimbursement will be provided. Location Brockville, Ontario (Local candidates near Brockville/Toronto preferred) Schedule & Shift Part‑Time | 2‑3 Days Per Week (Flexible/Variable Schedule) – 1st Shift Onsite Contract Long‑Term Ongoing Contract (Minimum 1‑Year Availability Required; Target Start Early June) Responsibilities - Conducting visual inspection of medical device products on an on‑call basis two times a week. - Perform borescope inspections of steel, titanium, and Inconel tubing to verify internal surface quality, cleanliness, and conformance to engineering and quality requirements. - Document findings using basic computer or tablet tools. - Work independently with minimal supervision. - Support the contract for a full year minimum. Complete one week of required client training in Canada. Requirements - Experience in quality assurance, inspection, manufacturing, or production environments. - Mechanical inspection experience in any industry welcomed (aerospace, medical device, oil & gas, manufacturing, etc.). - Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects. - Ability to read and follow work instructions and inspection criteria. - Basic computer or tablet proficiency for documentation. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Availability to support the contract for a full year minimum. - Willingness to complete one week of required client training in Canada. - Must be able to pass a background check. - U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status (ITAR requirement). Desired Backgrounds - Mechanical Inspectors (Level I or II) - Quality Inspectors / Source Inspectors - Quality Technicians - Manufacturing Technicians - Production Professionals looking to grow into inspection - Retired inspectors seeking part‑time supplemental work Preferred - Borescope inspection experience (training can be provided). - Source inspection or quality assurance background. - Experience with tube, pipe, or commodity inspection. - Familiarity with FOD control programs. Physical Requirements - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. - Manual dexterity to handle inspection tools and components. - Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed. - Visual acuity sufficient for detailed inspections (with or without corrective lenses). Benefits - Mileage reimbursement available at the current U.S. government mileage rate ($0.725/mile driven). - Adaptable 2‑3 day weekly schedule; workdays may vary. - Long‑term opportunity with potential for continued work beyond initial contract period. - Local candidates strongly preferred (1‑hour radius).
