Temporary Part-Time RPN - Emergency, South Leeds and Grenville United Counties (Prescott)

Position Summary As a member of the Unit Patient Care Team in the Emergency Department, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides direct nursing care to patients in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, policies and Standards of Nursing Practice. The RPN works under the direction of and in conjunction with other regulated health care professionals. The RPN participates in service and hospital‑wide activities and programs that promote a safe and healthy patient‑centered environment and contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.

Title: Registered Practical Nurse

Employment Type: Temporary Part‑Time (up to 6 months with possible extension)

Location: Emergency Department

Hours: Days, Nights, 7 days per week (0700‑1900 / 1900‑0700)

Union: CUPE

Salary: $36.71 to $39.02 per hour

Competition: 2026‑185

Requirements

A Registered Practical Nurse currently registered with College of Nurses of Ontario

Preference given to those who have had related client/patient care experience in an acute or emergency care environment and have successfully worked as a member of a workplace team

Preference given to those with 2 or more years of current acute care experience

Valid BCLS, maintained throughout employment

Member of RPNAO preferred

Emergency Nursing Certificate Preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work independently and also function effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment

Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, creativity and ability to prioritize

Demonstrated ability to relate in a tactful and sensitive manner with patients, visitors, staff and volunteers

Good attendance and availability required
