What You’ll Do? We are seeking a talented and innovative
Mechanical Engineer
to specialize in the design and development of high-efficiency blowers and fans for next-generation HVAC systems.
As a trusted technical resource, you’ll support our sales team and customers with expert guidance on system design, equipment selection, and product knowledge training—making a visible impact from concept through to customer success.
Driving Responsibilities
Design and develop new HVAC blower/fan assemblies, including propellers and impellers, housings, motors, and controls
Improve and optimize current designs for higher efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Perform CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations to optimize aerodynamic performance and structural integrity
Create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings (using SolidWorks/Inventor)
Develop prototypes and collaborate with our in‑house testing facility to validate aerodynamic performance
Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, marketing, and project management teams
Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards (AMCA, ASHRAE) and building codes
Represent Canarm on various technical committees (AMCA, ASHRAE, HVI)
Lead and participate in internal design reviews
Actively participate in Canarm’s continuous improvement journey
Support the sales team by delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, and client proposals
Travel to external stakeholder sites (customers/contractors/engineering firms) to conduct “lunch and learn” sessions and provide technical guidance and training
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Professional Engineering (P. Eng.) license or eligibility for licensure
Proven experience in commercial HVAC system design or product development, with a specific focus on fans, blowers and air handling units
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and simulation tools (CFD/FEA)
Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and aerodynamic principles.
Knowledge of relevant HVAC/AMCA standards
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing (or similar) principles
Comfortable working in a dynamic team setting as well as individually
Able to travel to client locations, trade shows and technical conferences on a regular basis
