SAP S/4HANA Upgrade Project Manager Duration of the contract: 8 months. Languages: English, French (optional). A brief Job Description The SAP S/4HANA Upgrade Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of an upgrade from an existing SAP S/4HANA version to the latest release (2025 target). This role ensures the upgrade is delivered on time, within scope, and compliant with governance and regulatory standards Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Governance Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations aligned with global program milestones. Establish and maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies). Ensure compliance with SAP Activate methodology and internal governance frameworks. Execution & Delivery Oversee all phases of the upgrade lifecycle: preparation, sandbox testing, development, QA, and production cutover. Coordinate integrated testing (validation, regression, performance). Manage change control processes and ensure business continuity during and post-upgrade. Stakeholder Management Act as the primary liaison between IT, business process owners, SAP consultants, BASIS teams, and external vendors. Provide regular status updates and executive reporting to senior leadership. Risk & Compliance Identify and mitigate project risks proactively. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (especially for industries like pharma or life sciences). Business Readiness Drive change management, training, and documentation readiness. Support user adoption and post-upgrade stabilization. Required Qualifications Experience 10+ years in SAP Project Management. Proven track record in SAP S/4HANA upgrade projects (e.g., from 2020/2021 to 2023 or later). Experience in highly regulated environments (pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences preferred). Skills Solid knowledge of SAP Activate methodology. Expertise in Supply Chain and Manufacturing workstreams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Familiarity with multi-vendor coordination and global project governance. Integration Certifications PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent. SAP-specific certifications (optional but preferred). Preferred Experience with complex integrations and custom code remediation. Understanding of SAP system architecture and BASIS activities.
