Human Resources Business Partner – Western Canada This senior, regionally aligned HR leader is responsible for providing strategic and operational human resources support to business operations across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. The role requires a strong HR generalist foundation combined with a transformation mindset. The HRBP will act as a trusted advisor to regional leaders while helping modernize HR processes, enhance employee and leader experience, and support the effective use of HR technology. The role partners closely with centralized HR teams while maintaining accountability for regional people outcomes. Strategic Business Partnership Serve as a trusted advisor to regional leadership, providing practical and strategic HR guidance aligned with business objectives. Support business leaders through periods of growth, transformation, and operational change. HR Transformation & Process Improvement Contribute to Canada‑wide HR transformation initiatives, including process standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement. Support the adoption of modern HR practices and ways of working across the region. Actively leverage HR technology, including Workday, to improve efficiency, data quality, reporting, and decision‑making. Demonstrate curiosity and practical application of AI‑enabled tools and analytics to streamline HR work, reduce manual effort, and enhance employee and leader experience. Support change management and adoption of new HR systems, processes, and tools. Employee Relations & Performance Management Lead employee relations matters across the region, including investigations, disciplinary actions, accommodations, and performance improvement plans. Coach and advise leaders on effective people management, documentation standards, and risk‑aware decision‑making. Ensure consistent and compliant application of HR policies and employment standards across Western Canada. Talent Management & • Leadership Development Support annual performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and follow‑through. Participate in regional talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development discussions. Partner with leaders to develop and support Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and readiness planning. Recruitment & • Workforce Planning Lead recruitment for senior‑level and leadership roles within Western Canada in partnership with Talent Acquisition. Support workforce planning aligned to operational and strategic business needs. Compensation, Incentives & • Reward Support Support and help drive the annual merit and incentive planning processes for the region. Partner with HR leadership and global stakeholders (e.g., Support leader understanding of compensation programs and decision processes. HR Operations, Compliance & • Governance Provide day‑to‑day HR guidance on policies, benefits, leaves, and payroll‑related inquiries. Support HR reporting and analytics needs for the region, including workforce data and people metrics. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. Escalate complex or high‑risk matters appropriately within the Canada HR governance model. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 10 years of progressive human resources experience with demonstrated strength across multiple HR disciplines. Solid background in employee relations, performance management, compensation processes, and policy application. Experience supporting leaders in a multi‑site or regional environment. Strong interest in using HR technology, data, and systems (e.g., Workday) to improve HR effectiveness. Demonstrated curiosity and openness to leveraging AI‑enabled tools or automation to enhance HR practices. Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information. CHRP or SHRM designation (or equivalent professional HR certification). Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset. Experience in industrial, distribution, manufacturing, or technical environments. Previous involvement in HR system implementations, optimization, or digital transformation initiatives. Experience supporting organizations through change, growth, or integration scenarios.
