Description
POSITION TITLE: Product Support Technician (a.k.a. Skilled Problem Whisperer) POSITION OVERVIEW As a Product Support Technician in Hamilton, you’ll be the hero our dealers call when things go sideways—and they will go sideways. You’ll train, troubleshoot, program, and occasionally perform mechanical miracles on ground construction equipment that “was working fine yesterday.” You’ll travel far and wide, armed with tools, expertise, and just enough caffeine to keep entire fleets running. Your mission: keep equipment moving, customers happy, and warranty claims… well, interesting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Support & Troubleshooting Be the go-to expert when machines decide they’ve had enough. Diagnose issues that others describe as “it just makes a noise.” Throw on coveralls, get greasy, and remind everyone why you’re the one they called. Provide remote support where “have you tried turning it off and on again?” is only step one. Training & Dealer Support Teach technicians how to fix things before they call you. Create training materials that people might actually read (or at least pretend to). Build strong relationships with dealer teams—so they call you early, not after things are really broken. Warranty & Product Improvement Work with the Warranty Manager to translate “it broke” into documentation that manufacturers understand. Spot recurring issues and help fix them at the source—because fixing it once is fine, but fixing it forever is better. Be the voice of the customer… especially when the customer is frustrated. Health, Safety & Compliance Keep everyone safe, including yourself—because no one wants to explain that incident. Lead by example and follow best practices (even when no one’s watching). QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Education Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician (or the equivalent battle scars). Experience 5+ years of hands-on experience fixing, diagnosing, and occasionally negotiating with heavy equipment. Technical Skills Know hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems like the back of your (greasy) hand. Comfortable with diagnostic tools, software, and machines that don’t like being diagnosed. Communication & Training Can explain complex problems in simple terms—without losing your patience. Able to train others so they almost don’t need to call you. Problem-Solving & Adaptability You don’t just fix problems—you hunt them down. You stay calm under pressure, even when the machine (and the customer) isn’t. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $100,000.00-$104,000.00 per year Benefits: - Casual dress - Company events - Dental care - Extended health care - Life insurance - In office parking - Paid time off Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2na750
