Familia Fine Foods started as a prepared Meal company, then open the doors as a Restaurant and Catering company specializing in Latin American cuisine with a Canadian fusion. Familia sells wholesome prepared meals to families around the GTA. It also operates a restaurant in Burlington where the Theme is Latin cuisine in a latin environment, organize special events within the Latin and local Community plus does catering in-house or delivery to large and small companies in the GTA. Familia is a growing small family business with a very positive feedback from clients and its vision is to continue growing until it's brand is nationally recognized. Familia Fine Foods is looking for a Permanent Full-time Cook to join the team. The duties are, but not limited to: - Prepare, plan and cook International and Latin American meals - Prepare Latin American dishes - Schedule, supervise and train kitchen staff - Set up and oversee buffets - Keep the kitchen and working area clean - Work with owner (Executive Chef) to manage kitchen operations, improve revenue, standardize procedures and recipes, track food costs, track inventory, supplies and equipment Qualifications and Skills: - 1 to 2 years experience in Latin Cuisine - Diploma/Certificate in Culinary by an accredited institution - Food Handlers Certificate - High level of professionalism - Excellent spoken and written communication in English - Speaking proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese (desirable) - Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen - Availability to stand for long periods of time - Great organization and customer service skills - Ability to follow instructions - Standout teamwork and cooperation - Positive personality and motivation - Available to work weekends and flexible hours - Able to work independently as well as part of a team - Hardworking, dependable and reliable Job Type: Permanent Full time Language: English IT IS NOT MANDATORY but an asset if you speak Spanish and/or Portuguese Salary: $16 - $18 per hour Location: Burlington ON Experience: 2 years Education: Culinary Diploma/Certificate Licence: Food Handlers Certificate Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour Benefits: - Discounted or free food - On-site parking - Store discount Ability to commute/relocate: - Burlington, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: - cooking: 1 year (preferred) Language: - Spanish (preferred) Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ny30x
