Heavy Physical Assembler – Wire Room (Day Shift) (Burlington)

We are hiring a Heavy Physical Assembler for our Wire Room in Burlington. This is a physically demanding and detail-oriented role where you’ll be handling large wire spools, cutting and assembling materials, and working to precise specifications. This position starts as temporary with strong potential to become permanent based on performance, attendance, and overall fit. Location: North Service Road and Walkers Lane, Burlington, ON Pay: $21.30/hour Shift: Straight Days – Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent What You’ll Do - Handle and move large spools of wire (up to 50 lbs.) - Perform wire cutting and assembly based on detailed specifications - Identify and differentiate between materials (e.g., copper and other wire types) - Follow ISO standards and work instructions - Complete basic data entry and documentation - Support general labour tasks within the wire room What You Bring - Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, moving, standing throughout shift) - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications accurately - Basic math and computer skills (data entry) - Good attitude, reliability, and excellent attendance - Ability to learn quickly and work independently after training Nice to Have - Previous experience in assembly or wire/cable environments - Forklift experience (not required – training may be provided) Work Environment - Highly physical role involving frequent lifting and movement of materials - Fast-paced, team-oriented wire room environment - Overtime may be available (voluntary) Training & Growth - Full training provided with support until you are confident in the role - Strong promote-from-within culture with opportunities to move into other departments What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who shows up ready to work every day, pays close attention to detail, and can handle the physical demands of the role.
