Universal Matter Manufacturing and Logistics Operator Department: Operations / Manufacturing Reports To: Production Manager Location: Universal Matter Inc. Burlington, Ontario Position Summary: The Universal Matter Manufacturing and Logistics Operator is responsible for supporting daily production, material handling, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations within a fast-paced advanced materials manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes while maintaining accurate inventory control and supporting logistics activities for raw materials and finished goods. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, organized, and capable of working across both manufacturing and warehouse functions in a collaborative industrial setting. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Operations - Operate production equipment and processing systems according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Support material preparation, mixing, packaging, and production activities. - Monitor equipment performance and production quality during manufacturing processes. - Complete batch records, production documentation, and operational logs accurately. - Assist with equipment cleaning, maintenance, and production changeovers. - Troubleshoot minor process or equipment issues and report concerns to supervisors. Logistics, Shipping & Receiving - Receive incoming raw materials, supplies, and equipment shipments. - Verify incoming and outgoing materials against shipping documentation and inventory records. - Prepare finished products for shipment, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, and documentation. - Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. - Coordinate movement of materials between warehouse and production areas. - Maintain organized warehouse storage and inventory accuracy. Inventory & Material Handling - Safely handle raw materials, chemicals, and finished products in accordance with company procedures and SDS requirements. - Perform inventory counts, stock rotation, and inventory tracking activities. - Assist with inventory reconciliation and material usage reporting. - Ensure materials are properly labeled and stored according to safety and quality standards. Safety, Quality & Compliance - Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures. - Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). - Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment.Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Support compliance with quality management systems and manufacturing standards. - Immediately report hazards, incidents, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns. Qualifications - High school diploma - Experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehouse operations, or chemical/materials - processing considered an asset. - Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. - Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial equipment safely. - Basic computer and documentation skills. - Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Physical Requirements - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. - Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift. - Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment. - Ability to wear PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed footwear, respirators, or - protective clothing as required. Skills & Competencies - Strong safety awareness and operational discipline. - Team-oriented with good communication skills. - Ability to multitask between manufacturing and logistics responsibilities. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Reliable, adaptable, and self-motivated. - Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
