Description
Electrician This is a contract position expected to run through February 2027. The role will be completed at that time due to a planned plant closure. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working within a defined project timeline and supporting key operational needs during this period. Job Summary Performs effective troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of facility electrical distribution systems and equipment in accordance with the objectives of the Maintenance Department, complying with industry standards Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Conduct preventive maintenance programs including computerized maintenance management systems, record keeping, work orders, material ordering and supplier relations so that deficiencies and / or potential hazards are eliminated prior to occurring - Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and code specifications to determine lay-out of industrial electrical equipment and installations - Maintain, repair, install, and test electrical motors, generators, alternators, battery backup systems, switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, metering, capacitors, regulators and reactors - Program, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial automation including PLC, HMI, frequency drives, temperature control and other related devices - Assist other Tradespersons performing routine tasks as requested - Provide recommendations to improve or reduce downtime through Continuous Improvement practices - Ensure all safety devices are properly adjusted, in place and lockout procedures are followed - Communicate with Maintenance / Production Managers regarding equipment problems - Participate in all departmental meetings and relevant educational sessions - Devise and implement electrical work clearances - Be fully knowledgeable and keep up to date on his/her responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code Qualifications - Must have completed Electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent and hold Industrial Electrician license 442A or 309A - Must have PLC programming knowledge of Beckhoff, Allen Bradley and Siemens. - Possess knowledge programming with Fanuc, Omron and ABB automation. - The ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and expedite repair - Possess leadership skills - Ability to work in team setting effectively and have proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Must have the ability to carry out multiple tasks under significant time constraints - Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Must have own tools to be considered NO AGENCIES PLEASE Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2p62lz
