Job Duties and Responsibilities: Supervision - Directly supervise all production workers - Explain and train the job requirements to new employees - Continually train and coach production employees - Ensure adequate cross training to staff is provided - Coordinate between mechanics and production employees during machine breakdowns - Coordinate scheduling requirements as needed Operations - Ensure production sequence is followed based on allergen - Enforce GMP and Allergen Control Program in the plant - Ensure area and equipment cleanliness is maintained before, during and after production - Ensure product specifications are met - Communicate deviations from standard (quality and/or sanitation) as found - Perform some QC checks when required - Ensure proper procedures are being followed for safety, quality and environmental standards - Ensure the operation performs in a productive and profitable manner - Ensure shipping deadlines are met on an ongoing basis Health & Safety - Train staff on OHS policies and procedures - Implementation and compliance of company safety program to ensure personnel are working in a safe manner in accordance with policies and procedures - Ensure that employees, equipment and processes meet or exceed the OHS and company guidelines and standards - Pursue a culture of safety that is best in class with an objective of "zero" injuries or incidents - Responsible for overseeing safety compliance - Assure a secure work environment through implementation of various safety processes and programs - Establish a safe and productive work environment employees are proud to represent the company Knowledge, Skills & Experience: - 3+ years working in a similar role in a food manufacturing plant - Experience enforcing safety processes and regulation; experience working with an Occupational Health & Safety Committee - Excellent leadership skills-must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct and actionable feedback - Possess a commitment to and willingness to devote great effort and time in order to reach goals - Ability to make decision in a timely manner - Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions - Experience maintaining first aid records (Level 2 is a bonus) - Experience working with WCB; managing RTW plans - Understanding of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing - Must be able to work from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm and one day on weekend Key Attributes: - Safety - Customer Focus - Leadership - Integrity & Trust - Communication skills Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year Benefits: - Dental care - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking - RRSP match - Store discount - Vision care Application question(s): - Are you able to work from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm and one day on weekend?
