Accountant (Burnaby)

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support our day-to-day operations and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of our financial processes, including monthly accounting, payroll administration, and oversight of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP). You’ll work closely with the rest of the Finance team to help maintain accuracy of financial records and support overall business objectives. What You’ll Do (not limited to): Accounting · Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations (GL, bank accounts, and corporate credit cards) · Prepare and file monthly and quarterly GST, PST, and WCB returns · Prepare and post month-end journal entries and maintain capital asset schedules · Reconcile major vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed · Contribute to finance projects and other responsibilities as required Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable · Oversee AP and AR workflows to ensure accurate invoice entry, complete records, and timely month-end close · Maintain customer account details (terms, pricing, discounts) and help resolve customer/vendor discrepancies · Assist with electronic payments and related financial processes Payroll · Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time · Complete payroll reconciliations and prepare payroll reporting · Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and respond to employee payroll inquiries · Prepare Records of Employment · Assist with payroll analysis, HR data accuracy, and payroll-related projects with the Controller What You Bring: · Minimum 3 years of experience with account reconciliations and journal entries · Minimum 1 year of payroll processing experience · Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Office 365. · Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field · Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. · Professional discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
