Draftsperson - Architectural Woodworking (Millwork) (Burnaby)

We are seeking an experienced Drafter / Draftsperson Architectural Woodworking (Millwork) to produce precise, build-ready shop drawings for custom architectural millwork. This role is critical in bridging design intent with efficient manufacturing, ensuring accuracy before production hits the shop floor. Burnaby, BC | Full-Time | In-Person Compensation & Benefits $25$40/hour, based on experience and capability Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and long-term disability Overtime paid in accordance with provincial guidelines Minimum 40 hours per week, in-person role On-site parking available Key Responsibilities Produce clean, accurate, and production-ready shop drawings Interpret architectural and conceptual drawings into detailed millwork packages Develop sections, elevations, technical details, and material take-offs Generate CNC-ready nesting files and cutlists using Microvellum Ensure drawings align with project scope, manufacturing standards, and production workflows Maintain drawing revisions, documentation, and internal databases Proactively identify and resolve design or manufacturing challenges What Were Looking For 4+ years of experience drafting architectural millwork shop drawings Experience working in a skilled millwork shop environment (6+ person shop preferred) Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings Proven track record producing accurate, buildable shop drawings Working knowledge of AWMAC / NAAWS standards Experience with Microvellum, Wood CAD/CAM, or Cabinet Vision (Microvellum and ARDIS experience preferred; training available) Familiarity with CNC processes, including nesting, toolpaths, and optimization Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Reliable, punctual, and team-focused Nice to Have: Hands-on experience building commercial millwork Requirements Ability to reliably commute to Burnaby, BC or relocate prior to starting English proficiency required Secondary school education preferred WHY YOULL WANT TO APPLY WITH IS2: IS2 works for you.
