Part-time, Mon– Fri, from either 2:00pm to 5:00pm or 2:30pm to 5:30pm

Hourly Rate:
$24.60 per hour

Position Overview The Junior School offers an After School Care Program for parents who have students attending St. George’s Junior School from Kindergarten to Grade 4. This requires a responsible individual to support student supervision for the After School Care Program. The primary function of this role is to provide care for students and ensure adherence to St. George’s School policies and procedures.
This is an ideal opportunity for those that are considering the education sector as a career option. The After School Support role includes three-hour shifts daily and is an ideal part-time opportunity. Preference will be given to candidates whose schedule allows for Monday to Friday shifts - we recommend including your availability in your cover letter. Supervision includes monitoring attendance, providing active supervision of the students, and organizing and leading activities to engage students.
This individual embodies the following core competencies: empathy, integrity, humility, respect, responsibility, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Providing supervision daily for 3 hours for an after-school care program for students in Kindergarten to Grade 4.
Creating and supervising student-centered activities.
Planning activities with a team of other workers.
Organizing student release to parents.
Available to work afternoons, Monday to Friday.
Qualifications
Experience in leading engaging activities for young students.
Preference will be given to candidates who also have the following experience: Classroom management; camp counselling/leadership, youth coaching.
Excellent decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with students.
Strong leadership skills.
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to communicate in written and verbal forms.
Professional attitude and a proven team player.
Key competencies and EQ in self-awareness, self-management, empathy, social interaction, initiative and accountability.
Standard First Aid certification (or higher) or maintains the ability to obtain certification by the first day of After School Care.
