Painter (Burnaby)

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various products and surfaces, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role requires a strong understanding of safety procedures and proficiency with hand tools and power tools. The Painter will contribute to the efficient production process by maintaining the quality and appearance of finished products in a fast-paced environment. Employee must also have some secondary construction skills, drywall taping/mudding would be ideal. Duties - Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed - Apply paint, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other methods - Be competent applying and sanding drywall compound and spackling - Protect surrounding areas from overspray and drips - Use hand tools and power tools to perform surface preparation and finishing tasks - Perform quality checks to ensure finishes meet specified standards - Assist in assembly processes when required - Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency - Support lean manufacturing initiatives by minimizing waste and optimizing workflow Qualifications - Proven experience in painting commercial and residential - Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment effectively - Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during surface preparation and coating application - Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and quality - Solid attention to detail with a focus on safety standards at all times - Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment - Must have valid Drivers License and have own vehicle - Willing to occasionally perform other tasks outside of painting - This position offers an opportunity for individuals with relevant skills in manufacturing, machining, or mechanical work to contribute significantly to our production goals while developing their expertise in industrial painting techniques.
