Salary Range: $28.50-$37.50 per hour, based on prior co-op experience and completed academic terms. The Opportunity As a member of the Technical Services team supporting the Refinery, you will work to maintain secure, reliable, and profitable operation of the refinery. This will include support for repair, alteration, or replacement of pressure piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, compressors, and pumps. The successful candidate will be encouraged to be resourceful, bring fresh perspectives, and workshop solutions using all available resources. Responsibilities - Ensure technical support needs are met for Operations, Inspections, Maintenance, and Reliability, and Technical teams. - Participate in troubleshooting unit/equipment problems, and delivering effective, safety-conscious solutions. - Learn to perform flange gasket bolting calculations, brittle fracture prevention evaluations, piping stress analysis, and pressure vessel analysis using industry codes and standards, in-house calculation templates, and industry-leading software. - Assist in Fitness For
Service (FFS) evaluations on piping and pressure vessels based on API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 industry code using hand calculations and commercial
engineering software. - Assist in preparation for plant shutdowns including field inspection and data gathering. - Source equipment including small pressure vessels, piping, fittings, hoses, flanges, gaskets, and bolting. - Participate in constructability and process hazard analyses for small projects. Education - Must be currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution in the 3rd or 4th year of a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering. Requirements - You are available for a 12-month term beginning in September 2026. - Previous Co-op/Internship experience is preferred. - You have strong interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities. - You have strong verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a highly dynamic work environment. - You are a creative and analytical thinker with time management skills who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. - You can work effectively with a high degree of collaboration and communication through in-person meetings and video conferences.
