Senior Technical Artist- Cinematics The future of entertainment is interactive, and our Marketing team plays an important role in this future by building content, culture, and community around our brands. The Marketing Cinematics group is a content production team within EA Studios who produce the highest quality marketing assets, trailers, and commercials. We are a diverse team unified through collaboration, culture, and craft. We are looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join the team. You will be mostly working on setting up production-ready environments and presets on a game engine, dealing with multiple 3D assets and workflows including characters, scenery, cameras, animation, lights, VFX, and rendering. You will work alongside a creative team of artists to ensure our marketing assets are delivered to the highest quality and compete on a world-class level. You will have the responsibility to support our artists and make sure they can be as creative and productive as possible so that technical problems do not stand in their way. You may also contribute to shot layout, technical application, and general cinematic content production to achieve the final creative vision as set forward by your Art/Creative Director. You will report to the Senior Technology Lead. You approach new technologies and technical challenges with determination. You understand DCC/Real-time production pipelines and how to manage different asset types. Help setting up cinematic shots, lookdev scenes, and reusable prefabs. Understand, review, and improve existing node-based visual scripting logic for game entities and rendering processes, as well as designing and implementing new logic when needed. Provide hands-on support to artists and engineers regarding asset performance and validation. You identify bugs and pipeline inefficiencies and have the knowledge and experience to design effective solutions to those issues. You can speak the same language as our engineers and participate in meaningful discussions with these partners; you bridge the gap between engineers and content creators. You understand the long-term effects of pipeline decisions and lend your technical expertise to team members and partners to build robust, scalable, and simple to maintain solutions. You write transparent documentation and generate effective training materials about content production workflows. 5+ years of relevant experience (digital content creation pipelines with a focus on cinematics) 3+ years of experience on any 3D game engine (Frostbite, Unreal, Unity, or others) Experience with real-time 3D workflows and the technical hurdles/limitations associated Experience with source control software like Perforce or Git Bonus Skills: Familiarity with 3D DCC tools such as Autodesk Maya, MotionBuilder, 3dsMax, or Blender. Knowledge of high-level coding language (Python, C#, mel scripting) The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. 89,300 - $123,000 CAD In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
