Prep Cook (Burnaby)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. Duties - Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and standards - Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and measuring food items - Support the cooking team by ensuring all ingredients are ready for meal assembly and service - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station, adhering to food safety protocols - Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure hygiene and safety standards are met - Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies - Support the overall kitchen operations during busy periods, ensuring timely meal preparation Requirements - Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential - Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards - Familiarity with serving procedures and meal presentation is a plus - Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting - Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards - Excellent teamwork skills and positive attitude - Flexibility to work various shifts as needed within restaurant hours Join our team as a Prep Cook if you are passionate about food industry standards and eager to grow your culinary skills in a supportive environment.
