Maintenance Helper (Burnaby)

The Role We are hiring a Permanent Full time Maintenance Helper to support operations at our state-of-the-art facility in South Burnaby, BC. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will take a hands-on role in keeping our equipment and systems running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities - Ensure equipment, machinery and systems run seamlessly and safely at all times - Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and conveyor-related issues - Troubleshoot PLCs and mechanical systems - Inspect and measure machinery to catch irregularities and malfunctions early - Interpret blueprints, schematics and drawings to plan the best work procedures - Adjust machinery and replace defective parts as needed - Carry out daily equipment cleaning and greasing - Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across all equipment, in line with established standards - Maintain conveyor belts to keep operations uninterrupted - Use hand tools, power tools, drills and grinders for fabrication and maintenance - Provide technical support and complete work orders promptly - Help ensure the plant stays safe and comfortable for all staff and keep your work area clean and organized - Collaborate closely with the Maintenance and Operations teams and keep open communication with management - Take on other duties in the Maintenance department as needed Candidate Requirements - Preferably 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience, ideally in manufacturing industries - Basic electrical knowledge in an industrial setting or technical training - Proficient in mechanical and electrical installation and troubleshooting - Experience with hand tools, power tools, drills, and grinders - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs - Capacity to follow detailed instructions and operate equipment effectively - Theoretical and practical understanding of basic mechanical systems - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English - Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment - Effective time management, organizational, and multitasking skills - Team player with the ability to work independently - Eagerness to learn new skills - Availability to work weekends and varied shifts to meet operational demands Why Join Us - Stable, permanent full-time role with competitive pay - Comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental and vision care - Hands-on training and long-term growth opportunities - Supportive, inclusive workplace culture with regular company events Learn more about us at .
