Prep Cook (Burnaby)

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and support the kitchen operations to deliver high-quality meals. Responsibilities - Prepare ingredients and assemble components for menu items, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients - Assist in cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including sanitizing workstations and utensils - Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items - Support the kitchen team during busy hours by efficiently completing meal preparation tasks - Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations - Collaborate with serving staff to ensure timely delivery of orders Experience - Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided - Familiarity with food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food handling safety practices is advantageous - Experience working in the food industry or with meal preparation is a plus - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and cleanliness - Solid understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures This position offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic culinary team while honing essential skills in food preparation, cooking, and customer service.
