That's the role. This is a flexible, part-time contract position designed to fit around your existing commitments, not replace them. You choose how many clients to take on, set your own schedule, and work in the environments that make sense for you and your clients. Your role is consultation-focused and community-driven. You bring your expertise, conduct assessments and resource connections, and collaborate with our interdisciplinary team as needed. You are supported by dedicated case managers who handle coordination, scheduling, insurance navigation, and administrative logistics, so you can focus purely on the relational, practical work social work was meant to be. We offer manageable caseloads, hands-on community connection and relationship-centered support. WHO WE ARE Coova Health provides private case management for individuals, families, and community organizations navigating challenging situations. We are who you call when someone is consulting with multiple specialists, all speaking different terminology. We step in to act as a single point of continuity. We bring structure, support, accountability, and clarity to layered cases. We walk alongside healthcare providers, schools, caregivers, families, and all who are part of someone's circle of care. YOUR ROLE MAY INCLUDE INTERVENTIONS SUCH AS: - Support clients under the supervision of an MSW Case Manager - Conduct psychosocial assessments focused on practical needs, strengths, and available resources - Connect clients with community resources: food security programs, housing supports, transportation, financial assistance, support groups, and other essential services - Navigate systems alongside clients including accompany them to appointments, help complete forms, advocate with service providers, and follow up on referrals - Provide emotional support and psychoeducation: normalize experiences, validate strengths, and offer coping strategies within scope - Monitor progress and collaborate with the supervising Case Manager on care planning - Document client interactions, resource connections, and progress notes in compliance with BCCSW standards - Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (Case Managers, RPN, OT, Dietitian, etc.) to ensure coordinated care - Adapt when plans shift or circumstances change WHAT YOU BRING Must-haves: - Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from an accredited program - Active registration as RSW with the BC College of Social Workers, in positive standing - 1–3+ years of experience in social services, community support, mental health support work, or care coordination - Comprehensive understanding of relevant BC legislation and BCCSW practice standards for RSWs - Strong knowledge of BC community resources and social systems including what exists, how to access it, and how to support clients in connecting - Comfortable working collaboratively under supervision and seeking consultation to ensure best outcomes - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust quickly with clients and families - Clear, concise documentation skills that would hold up to regulatory scrutiny - Ability to recognize when situations benefit from Case Manager involvement and collaborate accordingly - Give and receive constructive feedback with professionalism and genuine openness as thought partnership is central to how we build excellent care plans - Adapt when plans shift or circumstances change while acting steady and solutions-oriented even when families are making important decisions - Professional liability insurance (minimum $2 million coverage) - Valid BC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes, with business use insurance coverage Bonus skills: - Experience working with diverse populations (youth, older adults, individuals experiencing housing transitions, newcomers) - Familiarity with insurance documentation and benefit navigation - Knowledge of the Adult Guardianship Act, Residential Tenancy Act, or other BC legislation relevant to social service support - Understanding of CFCSA and child welfare systems - Bilingual or multilingual capacity - Training in trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, or motivational interviewing WHAT WE OFFER - Revenue-share model: your compensation increases with your experience and tenure at Coova - Flexible scheduling that accommodates your other commitments - Clinical supervision and mentorship from experienced MSW Case Managers: you will always work as part of a team - Interdisciplinary collaboration as every case is held by a team, not a single clinician - A genuine opportunity to help shape a first-of-its-kind private care model WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE This role is ideal for BSW social workers who: - Are energized by hands-on, community-based support and connecting people to resources that enhance their wellbeing - Think creatively and persistently about facilitating access to support — understanding that effective navigation creates meaningful change - Thrive working collaboratively under supervision and value team consultation - Focus on relationship-building, practical problem-solving, and measurable progress - Stay calm and constructive while navigating community systems and leading with advocacy and partnership - Hold professionalism and deep humanity in equal measure SCOPE OF PRACTICE As an RSW working under MSW supervision at Coova, your practice includes: - Psychosocial support, resource connection, and practical navigation assistance - Implementing the biopsychosocial-spiritual case plan developed by the team - Providing emotional support, psychoeducation, and coping strategies within generalist scope - Collaborative care planning with the supervising Case Manager Your practice is supported through supervision for: - Cases involving multiple specialists, legal guardianship processes, or active mental health crisis - Psychotherapy or clinical counselling (requires additional credentials beyond RSW scope at Coova) - Complex clinical decision-making (supervision and consultation ensure best outcomes) HOW TO APPLY Apply directly on our website — complete the intake form and upload your resume at: We will consider other professional designations when skills and experience match expectations. EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP This position is an independent contractor role, not an employment relationship. You must: - Be responsible for your own income tax remittances, CPP contributions, and EI premiums - Maintain your own professional liability insurance - Set your own schedule in collaboration with client needs and team coordination - Not be entitled to employment benefits, vacation pay, or statutory holiday pay under the BC Employment Standards Act - Invoice Coova Health for services rendered based on the agreed revenue-share structure - Retain the right to decline assignments and to collaborate with other organizations A formal independent contractor agreement will be provided upon offer, outlining the terms of the relationship, compensation structure, confidentiality obligations, and termination provisions in compliance with British Columbia law.
