Security Systems Service Technician (Burnaby)

Scarlet SecurityRisk Group (SSRG) is seeking experienced Security Systems Service Technicians to join our team. The Security Systems Service Technician is responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance, and repair of electronic security systems, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion alarms, and related low-voltage infrastructure. This role ensures systems remain fully operational, reliable, and aligned with client and industry standards. The position focuses on hands-on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolving technical issues across multiple systems, as well as performing routine service, inspections, and minor upgrades. The Service Technician works closely with both the Sales team and Delivery team to address service needs, provide technical input, and ensure continuity between project completion and ongoing support. The role also involves direct interaction with clients to identify issues, recommend solutions, and deliver a high level of customer service. In addition, the technician is responsible for maintaining accurate service records, following safety procedures, and supporting the overall performance, reliability, and efficiency of systems in the field. Equally, the position is responsible for delivering on quality of product and service, aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 31000 standards. Responsibilities - Install, program, and service security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and perimeter detection - Focus on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing system issues across multiple platforms - Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure systems remain reliable and fully operational - Work closely with clients to identify issues, explain solutions, and provide responsive support - Maintain accurate service records, reports, and test documentation - Train end-users on system operation and basic troubleshooting - Stay current with evolving technologies, products, and industry standards - Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures - Participate in on-call support as needed - Assist, guide, and mentor junior technicians when required - Support system upgrades, expansions, and small installation projects Requirements - 5+ years of experience in integrated security or low-voltage systems - Strong system programming experience (required for senior-level candidates) - Proven experience leading installation projects - Valid TQ certification (or in progress) - Familiar with industry tools and equipment - Valid driver's license with clean record - Certifications with systems such as KEYSCAN, ICT, DSC, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, AMAG, Kantech, Gallagher and others - Post-secondary education in electronics or a related field - Solid technical troubleshooting and repair skills - Ability to manage service calls independently with minimal supervision - Good organization and time management - Clear communication with clients and team members - Ability to prioritize and resolve issues quickly in the field - Ability to be available for On-Call rotations Working Conditions - Requires lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, and working at heights - Work may be indoors or outdoors, including construction environments - May involve confined spaces, travel, and moderate noise levels - This role may require occasional travel Company Perks - $37-$45 per hour - Healthdental benefits for full-time employees - Up to $1,000 in referral bonuses when your friends join the team - A culture of respect, mentorship, and upward mobility - Access to exclusive employee discounts on over 5000 productsservices About SSRG Scarlet SecurityRisk Group (SSRG) is an ISO31000, ISO9001 and ISO45001 certified company and one of Canada's leading security companies.
