Mandarin Teacher on Call (Burnaby)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mandarin Teacher on Call to support our educational programs on Saturdays. This role involves providing engaging language instruction tailored to diverse student needs, including children with special education requirements and individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong communication skills, and experience working with children in classroom settings. Duties - Deliver Mandarin language instruction to students across different age groups and skill levels - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards - Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with disabilities or special education requirements - Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence - Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support language development - Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance program effectiveness - Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and instructional activities - Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and program updates Requirements - Proven experience working with children in classroom or educational settings in both Mandarin and English. - Robust communication skills in both Mandarin and English - Background check for criminal record - Background in Mandarin Fluency and student support roles (teaching, tutoring) - Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education is a plus - Knowledge of math or other core subjects is advantageous for integrated instruction - Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learning needs - Passion for education and fostering a supportive learning environment - Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, including occasional evenings or weekends if required Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour Benefits: - Casual dress - On-site parking Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pdoe0
