About the Role Mott Electric is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to support our field team in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient job sites. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Chargehands and field crews, this role is responsible for monitoring site conditions, supporting hazard identification, and ensuring adherence to company safety programs and WorkSafeBC requirements. The Construction Safety Officer plays a key role in promoting a strong safety culture by providing guidance, coaching, and practical solutions on active construction sites. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in construction environments who take a hands-on, team-oriented approach to safety and are committed to continuous improvement. Responsibilities - Conduct regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits - Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company policies - Lead and support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and orientations - Assist in identifying potential hazards and implementing effective control measures - Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and support corrective actions - Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and records - Support onboarding and ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors - Collaborate with project teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated into project planning and execution - Other administrative tasks as assigned Qualifications - Valid Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification - Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health & safety practices - 2+ years experience working in construction environments (electrical experience is an asset) - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships on site - Practical, solutions-focused approach to safety - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Pay range and compensation package - $55,000-$80,000/year based on experience. - Comprehensive extended health benefits - Health & Wellness Program - RRSP with matching Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pfl69
