Youth Recreation Leader in Burnaby

Join the City of Burnaby’s Parks, Recreation and Culture department as a Youth Recreation Leader 1. This part-time role focuses on program planning and customer service for youth.

We are seeking a motivated Recreation Leader to create engaging programs for the youth community. The ideal candidate will assist with scheduling, resolve conflicts, and promote events to enhance participation. You will maintain safety standards and support the training of staff and volunteers, adding vital contributions to our team.

Key Responsibilities:• Provide excellent customer service to program participants • Prepare and lead engaging activity plans for youth • Assist in scheduling indoor and outdoor recreational activities • Resolve conflicts and patron situations effectively • Enforce policies to maintain safety and security

Requirements:• Completion of a two-year Community Recreation program or Grade 12 plus relevant courses • Strong communication and organizational skills • Experience working with youth, especially in 2SLGTBQIA+ communities • Valid BC Driver’s Licence and First Aid Certification required• Police Information Check may be necessary
