Manager, CorpSec (Burnaby)

Overview Clio is a leading provider of cloud‑based legal software. We are hiring a Manager, CorpSec to lead our security team across Canada (excluding Quebec). The role requires on‑site presence in Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto minimum two days per week. This is a “player‑coach” position that blends hands‑on security operations with leadership and strategic planning. Responsibilities - Own and transform Clio’s security posture, integrating IT systems, application security, and compliance. - Lead a security team that manages DLP, EDR, phishing, SIEM, SSO, and Google Workspace controls. - Deploy, configure, and tune DLP solutions and manage operational aspects of EDR. - Develop and maintain incident‑response playbooks for insider threats, compromised devices, and data leaks. - Drive the design and delivery of employee education workflows and onboarding education. - Collaborate with Privacy, Compliance, and IT teams to align controls with SOC2, ISO, HIPAA, and other global standards. - Partner with subject‑matter experts to evaluate and deploy AI‑powered security tools. - Coach and mentor team members, fostering career development and a culture of feedback. - Communicate complex security risks and decisions to non‑technical stakeholders. Qualifications - Proven leadership experience managing security teams in a fast‑paced environment. - 6–8 years of hands‑on information‑security experience (endpoint, email, security operations). - Direct experience operating at least two of: EDR, DLP, phishing, SIEM, SSO, Google Workspace security controls. - Strong independent initiative; able to start without pre‑built playbooks. - Excellent communication skills and ability to explain security risks to non‑technical audiences. - Principled approach to balancing security visibility and employee trust. - Growth mindset and curiosity to understand underlying causes of problems. Preferred Experience - Assessment of AI‑related risks or augmentation of AI into security processes. - Experience with NIST, ISO27001, or FedRAMP frameworks. - Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+. - MDM systems and advanced incident‑management workflows.
