Purchasing Assistant (Bolton)

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our supply chain team. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and services necessary for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with ERP systems, vendor management, and sourcing strategies, contributing to streamlined procurement processes and cost-effective purchasing decisions. Duties - Assist in sourcing and evaluating vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials. - Support the procurement process by preparing purchase orders using ERP systems such as SAP or other MRP platforms. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine material requirements based on production schedules and inventory levels. - Monitor supplier performance and maintain accurate records related to procurement activities. - Assist in maintaining supply chain documentation, including contracts, purchase agreements, and compliance reports. Qualifications - Proven experience with SAP, ERP systems, or similar supply chain management software. - Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procurement procedures, and supply chain operations. - Strong vendor management skills with the ability to negotiate effectively on pricing and terms. - Familiarity with MRP systems, sourcing strategies, and procurement best practices. - Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and data entry. - Effective communication skills for collaborating with suppliers and internal teams. - Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is preferred but not mandatory. - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
