Overview We are seeking an experienced 310T Diesel Mechanic to lead our maintenance team in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our fleet and trailers. This role requires a strong background in diesel repair, along with excellent leadership and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have experience and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and maintenance procedures with Diesel Transport trucks and trailers. We are specifically looking for someone who has a strength in computer/diagnostics. We would be interested in a 310T Apprentice if the right person applies. We have just renovated our shop and turned it into a four bay shop with a wash bay, with plenty of room to work and have a clean and safe environment. We are looking for someone to work along side our full time 310T supervisor. Duties - Complete daily maintenance operations for diesel engines, and . - Complete repair activities, ensuring timely completion while maintaining high-quality standards. - Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and hands-on inspection; perform repairs or delegate tasks to technicians. - Manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for repairs, including power tools and hand tools. - Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all maintenance activities; conduct safety training sessions for team members. - Lead troubleshooting efforts on complex systems involving electrical components, HVAC units, welding tasks, and assembly processes. - Provide technical guidance to team members; mentor junior mechanics and assist with their professional development. - Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules; prepare reports for management review. - Collaborate with other departments to coordinate equipment usage and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Skills - Extensive dealership experience with diesel engines and automotive repair. - Strong tire knowledge as we change our own tires on site. - Flexibility with needing to be on call and needing to come in early or work late. - Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including electrical components, HVAC units, welding techniques, and schematics interpretation. - Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and assembly processes. - Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; physically fit to handle demanding tasks in a dynamic environment. - Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards. - Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. - Knowledge of maintenance best practices and troubleshooting procedures for complex machinery systems.
