This role combines precision application expertise with hands-on equipment maintenance and asset stewardship. The successful candidate will take ownership of both field performance and equipment reliability, contributing to a high-performing, effective operation.. Responsibilities - Operate dry fertilizer application equipment using onboard technology to deliver timely, accurate applications. - Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency with minimal downtime. - Take full ownership of equipment readiness, including cleaning, fueling, calibration, and ensuring all equipment is field-ready at the start and end of each shift. - Diagnose issues and complete basic troubleshooting and minor repairs in the field or shop environment. - Support and contribute to a structured preventative maintenance program, including accurate record‑keeping and proactive servicing. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment across equipment, vehicles, shop, and yard. - Operate equipment independently with high accuracy, including GPS setup, calibration, and software use. - Provide mentorship and support to junior or seasonal applicators, including training on equipment operation and maintenance best practices. - Demonstrate strong adherence to safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and company standards in all operations. - Maintain a professional, respectful, and customer-focused approach in all interactions. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience operating agricultural application equipment preferred. - Valid AZ or DZ license (or actively working toward one). - Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repair work. - Proven ability to work independently and manage workload in a fast-paced, seasonal environment. - Comfortable using GPS systems, precision ag technology, and computer software. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy (“no-error” mindset). - Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment. - Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons. - Interest in leadership, mentorship, and continuous improvement is considered an asset.
