Welder Helper Caledon

Overview We are seeking a motivated Welder Helper to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers an excellent chance to gain hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, and construction environments. The ideal candidate will support welding operations by assisting skilled welders and contributing to various fabrication tasks. Candidates with a robust work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and an interest in manufacturing are encouraged to apply. Duties Assist welders with setup and preparation of welding equipment, including MIG and TIG welding processes Support rigging operations and help position materials using cranes and hand tools Prepare materials for welding by measuring with calipers and performing basic math calculations Operate power tools and hand tools safely for assembly, cutting, and fabrication tasks Assist with plasma cutting, press brake machine operations, and sheet metal forming tasks such as ductwork fabrication Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications Support machining operations including using calipers, schematics, and basic machine setup Help with the assembly of components according to construction or manufacturing plans Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency on the shop floor Follow all safety protocols related to welding, rigging, machining, and general manufacturing procedures Experience Prior experience in welding (MIG or TIG), blueprint reading, or fabrication is a plus but not required; training will be provided Knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, and the use of hand tools and power tools is advantageous Familiarity with crane operation, forklift use, or plasma cutting equipment is beneficial but not mandatory Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to assembly and fabrication processes Experience in construction or ductwork projects is a plus but not essential; willingness to learn is key This role provides valuable exposure to various aspects of manufacturing and fabrication industries.
